Palin pre-empts state report, clears self in probe

No, that is not an Onion article.
Trying to head off a potentially embarrassing state ethics report on GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, campaign officials released their own report Thursday that clears her of any wrongdoing.

One is reminded of another moment in modern Republican history, when we first learned straight up that they can't be bothered with such quaint concepts as reality:

That's not the way the world really works anymore. We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors…and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.

All the world's their stage, no?
