The Minnesota Senate passed a "medical marijuana" bill today on a 33 - 31 vote. The governor has, of course, vowed to veto it. The remarkable thing to Spot is that Spotty's state senator, Geoff Michel, voted for the measure. He voted with people like Linda Berglin, John Marty, and Ann Rest, and against people like Dick Day, Michael Jungbauer, and Ray Vandeveer.
Opponents of the measure say it "sends the wrong message" to young people. Yeah, Spot supposes that the message that we want to alleviate the suffering of really sick people is a bad one for our kids. Spot never understood how the Legislature got out of the business of enacting laws and into the business of sending messages.
